"The Academy works tirelessly to advance engineering and deliver public benefit from engineering excellence but as a charity, our work increasingly relies on philanthropic support to deliver impact. Restricted funding from the government and our corporate partners leaves many of our transformative initiatives dependent on the generosity of individuals like you.
Your help is not just appreciated, it’s essential.
I invite you to donate to the Annual Appeal today, so we can expand our reach, deepen our impact, and ensure that engineering continues to drive positive change in every corner of society.
You can choose to secure the future of the Academy with an unrestricted gift to the Prince Philip Fund, empower engineering students to excel in their careers through our Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme, or inspire the engineers of tomorrow with a gift to This is Engineering. Find out more about these funds below.
Whatever and however you decide to support, thank you. "

Prince Philip Fund
Engineering solutions demand deep expertise, long-term vision, and the agility to adapt to a changing world.
The Prince Philip Fund provides us with the flexibility to invest in the right partnerships and programmes where the need is greatest, whilst honouring HRH The Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The fund is unrestricted and exists in perpetuity, ensuring his legacy will be realised for many generations to come.
Your unrestricted gift to the Prince Philip Fund can help us:
-
respond to emerging challenges
-
invest in the next generation of engineers
-
support innovation and research by leading academics
-
foster a more inclusive society by assuring greater accessibility to engineering.
Help us honour his passion and ambitious vision for the Academy by growing the Prince Philip Fund.
This is Engineering
Engineering is at the heart of everyday life; from the devices we rely on to the innovations addressing global challenges. Yet despite its impact, the engineering workforce continues to face a serious shortage of skills and diversity in the UK.
Through our This is Engineering campaign, we’re transforming how young people aged 13 to 18 see engineering by showcasing the breadth of careers, sharing exciting stories from relatable young role models, and offering clear guidance to help them discover their path.
Currently in the UK:
-
Only 16.9% of the engineering workforce are women
-
14% are Black, Asian, Mixed or other Ethnic groups
-
14% have a disability
Help us raise £150,000 so we can continue to build our campaign, produce new resources and reach more young people across the country.
Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme
Engineering excellence depends and thrives on diversity of thought, experience and background.
To solve the complex challenges of today and tomorrow, we need engineers who reflect the society they serve.
The Graduate Engineering Engagement Programme (GEEP) empowers engineering students from diverse backgrounds to thrive in their careers and boost their ability to secure engineering jobs. It provides them with an immersive learning experiences, connecting talented students from underrepresented backgrounds with leading engineering employers.
Since launch in 2015, 2000+ students from 70 UK universities have been supported, but our work is far from done.
Help us raise £250,000 so we can continue to open doors for aspiring engineers, providing opportunities for face-to-face engagement with companies, mentoring and insight that can shape lasting careers.
Leave a legacy
Leaving a legacy gift in your will to the Academy is a meaningful way of supporting the next generation of engineers and the future of your profession.
How you can help
With a global shortage of engineering skills and an annual shortfall of up to 59,000 engineers in the UK, we must increase our investment in them and their innovations if we are to solve complex global challenges.
