UKOPA

We're most well known for...
UKOPA exists to provide the recognised and authoritative view of UK pipeline operators on strategic issues relating to safety management, operations and integrity management of hydrocarbon pipelines. It seeks to effectively influence the development and implementation of pipeline related legislation and standards for the mutual benefit of all stakeholders.
UKOPA does not have any direct employees, but its members do. It has 6 working groups focusing on:
- Corrosion Protection
- Emergency Planning and Resilience
- Fault and Risk
- Infringements
- Pipeline Integrity
- Process Safety
The groups produce Good Practice Guides and Technical Bulletins and carry out research to support the industry. UKOPA documents are recognised as Industry Best Practise by UK regulators such as HSE and other key stakeholders.
Working group and members meetings are an excellent way for engineers to network, discuss issues and seek support that may not be available withing their own companies.
