National Grid

We're most well known for...
National Grid: ‘Our vision is to be at the heart of a clean, fair and affordable energy future.
We have a responsibility to demonstrate our contribution to society, whether that’s helping the young people of today to become the energy problem-solvers of tomorrow, supporting our customers to use energy more efficiently or tackling climate change by targeting net zero for our own emissions by 2050.’

In the UK we deliver electricity safely, reliably and efficiently to the customers and communities we serve, while working towards a clean energy future.
National Grid lies at the heart of a transforming energy system.
Our business areas play a vital role in connecting millions of people to the energy they use, while seeking ways to make the energy system cleaner.
Electricity Distribution [NGED] provide the power to 8 million customers, managing the electricity distribution network for the Midlands, South-West and Wales.
Electricity Transmission [NGET] own and maintain the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales; transporting the electricity from where it’s generated, to where it’s needed and investing in the network to help connect more renewable and low carbon electricity to the grid.
National Grid Ventures (NGV) is at the forefront of the energy transition. We operate across the UK, Europe and US, developing, operating, and investing in large-scale clean energy infrastructure.
