Huda Benrekia
Who Am I?
I am Huda Benrekia, a First-Class Honours Chemical Engineering graduate from Aston University. I currently work as a Graduate Process Engineer at WSP. My journey has been defined by my adaptability, problem-solving skills, and leadership across various fields. Alongside my professional work, I found my passion in humanitarian aid, especially through my involvement with SPOT Project in The Gambia.
As the first in my family to attend university, I faced challenges navigating my career after graduating, but I persevered, building my personal brand and securing my current role. In five years, I see myself advancing as a leader in engineering, contributing to innovative projects and mentoring others.
What did I get out of GEEP?
GEEP provided me with invaluable personal and professional development opportunities through a mix of online and in-person events. It taught me how to refine my personal brand and confidently present myself to potential employers.
One of the biggest outcomes of my participation was securing my role at WSP, after a challenging one- year job search. GEEP gave me the support, direction, and confidence I needed to regain hope in my career.
The chance to connect and network with industry professionals and learn from their experiences was one of the most motivating and beneficial aspects for me.
