About Practical AI
Practical AI is an exciting new series of online discussions to share stories of how AI can deliver benefits for people and places. We’ll be talking to AI innovators, users and adopters about the reality of adopting AI and what they've learnt from the experience.
Our first event examined the success of a pilot between Vivacity and Transport for West Midlands who used AI enabled road sensors to monitor traffic incidents, detect situations where there was increased risk to pedestrians, cyclists and other road users, and have been able to rethink their road strategy as a result.
The second event shifted focus to large scale infrastructure and the maintenance challenges that they can pose. In this event we spoke to Thames Tideway and Amentum about the robots they're developing who can use AI to navigate the giant tunnels, removing the need for human inspection.
