Professor Richard Curry has a sustained record of internationally leading research, developing and engineering advanced electronic and photonic materials. Delivering numerous ‘firsts’ including near-infrared organic and hybrid nanocrystal photonic devices and engineering the electrical properties of phase-change memory materials, he has most recently led international advances in nanoscale advanced materials engineering. Underpinning materials engineering for quantum technologies, this transformative technology has enabled the world’s purest silicon to be engineered through to direct writing of single atoms. A senior leader in academia, he is a strong advocate for the wider community and has delivered highly impactful inclusive outreach and engagement initiatives.
