Professor Lourdes Agapito is a pioneer in computer vision applied to video, in particular the 3D reconstruction of dynamic scenes from 2D video. Her research in computer vision has consistently focused on the inference of 3D information from single images or videos acquired from a moving camera. This research has become industrial practice through co-founding of the company Synthesia, which makes text-to-video a reality for hundreds of companies worldwide, bringing significant improvements to corporate training and communications.
