Professor Jianzhong Wu is a world leader in energy engineering innovation, internationally recognised for establishing and leading the fields of multi-vector energy systems and peer-to-peer energy trading. He created world-first engineering tools to analyse and optimise interactions between electricity, gas, heat, hydrogen, and transport networks at the power-flow level, and pioneered peer-to-peer energy trading platforms and methods, now widely adopted by industry, policymakers, and academia. His innovations have informed UK national infrastructure planning and utility investment strategies. He advises the UK and Welsh Governments, Scottish Power Energy Networks and Northern Powergrid.
