Dr Selda Gunsel has served in the energy industry for more than 35 years and is currently Chief Technology Officer for Shell plc. Throughout her career she has led the development of innovative, energy-efficient technologies and products for the energy industry; technologies aimed at reconciling the growing demands for energy provision and environmental protection. Dr Gunsel, who strategically plans, manages and directs technology innovation for Shell in the UK and worldwide, strongly supports the fundamental research needed to tackle the technological challenges of the energy transition. She has fostered joint development initiatives and collaborations across the industry, engineering profession and academia.
