Regional President, Caspian Central Asia and Türkiye, bp
Dr Gio Cristofoli has been with bp more than two decades, holding multiple leadership roles across the organisation's global portfolio. As bp regional president for Caspian, Central Asia and Türkiye (CCAT), he is responsible for overseeing bp’s production and operations in the region, as well as driving growth, regional strategy, ensuring operating excellence, and managing relationships with governments and co-venturers in bp-operated projects. Gio serves as chair of International Oil and Gas Producers, where he actively fosters collaboration across the oil and gas sector, and helps steer the Association toward safer, more efficient, and sustainable industry practices. He also mentors engineers and scientists, from graduates to senior professionals in industry and academia. He leads assessment panels for institutions such as Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE) and supports technical conferences that build capability, enable knowledge exchange, and address complex challenges. A strong advocate of engineering excellence, he has also been a committed champion of IChemE and the expansion of professional institutions across bp’s global footprint.
