President, Ocean Infinity
Dan Walker leads Ocean Infinity’s growth and development of advanced robotics, autonomy and artificial intelligence to transform maritime operations, improving safety, efficiency and environmental performance. He has built an international career spanning engineering, science, technology, innovation and business, with senior leadership roles at two of the world’s largest natural resource companies, bp – where he held several position including Vice President of Engineering – and Rio Tinto, where he was Chief Innovation and Technology Officer, with responsibility for the company’s global innovation and technology organisation. His career has combined fundamental research and engineering with the development and deployment of emerging technologies and the creation of new businesses. Earlier in his career, he undertook postdoctoral research in fluid and structural dynamics at MIT and was a lecturer in engineering science at the University of Oxford. Alongside his executive career, he has served as a director and board or executive adviser to a number of companies and joint ventures, including Ocean Infinity Group and I-Pulse Group. He is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer and a Fellow of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers.
