Professor Yonggang Huang is an engineer who has pioneered two transformative technologies: stretchable electronics, and mechanics-guided deterministic 3D assembly of structures and electronics. His vision laid the foundations in these areas and paved the way for important applications in bio-integrated/bio-inspired electronics, medicine, and 3D fabrication. His technologies have had a profound impact on engineering science and have led to the formation of numerous companies. He has been elected to the US National Academy of Engineering and National Academy of Sciences, and is a foreign member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society.
