Professor Michael Wooldridge is a world leader in artificial intelligence. He is recognised as one of the founders of the field of multiagent systems, concerned with interactions between AI systems. His article Intelligent agents: Theory and practice is considered the defining publication of the field. Michael gave the 2023 Royal Institution Christmas Lectures “The Truth about AI”. He has been influential in UK government on AI developments. He served as specialist advisor to the House of Lords inquiry on large language models and is an expert advisor to the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies.
