Professor John Kilner applies his unique knowledge of ceramic oxygen ion conductors to the design, fabrication and engineering energy storage and conversion devices and clean hydrogen production. He has developed ceramics for use in batteries, fuel cells and electrolysers. John has had a critical impact on the UK economy’s energy sector. He is the co-founder of Ceres Power, an AIM-listed UK success story, now with over 600 employees. He has helped to found two energy research institutes, CIC energiGUNE in Spain and I2CNER in Japan.
