Chris Johnson is Chief Scientific Advisor in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. He was Pro Vice-Chancellor for Engineering and Physical Sciences at Queen’s University Belfast and Head of Computing at the University of Glasgow. He holds fellowships in safety-critical systems engineering with NASA and the United States Air Force. He was expert witness at the Grenfell Tower Inquiry. He led the Department for Transport’s cybersecurity review of UK aviation and co-wrote UN guidance on cybersecurity for nuclear facilities. He is a member of the National Cyber Advisory Board, chaired by the Deputy PM within the National Security Secretariat.
