Lydia Balogun-Wilson is a Chartered Engineer and bp’s Engineering Authority for one of the company’s most complex global operations. In this role, she manages a multidisciplinary team that provides independent technical assurance to ensure engineering standards are applied, risks are managed systematically, and solutions comply with regulatory and professional codes while being delivered safely and efficiently. She has almost three decades in engineering design, operations, and project delivery across the UK, Caspian, and African regions. Lydia is a Fellow of both the Institution of Chemical Engineers and the Energy Institute, and serves as bp’s Vice Chair representative to the Energy Institute’s Scientific and Technical Advisory Committee. She is also a guest lecturer in process safety at the University of Aberdeen and provides mentoring for the next generation of engineers.
