Keith Beckett leads the UK Ministry of Defence’s (MoD) submarine engineering, safety and technology function across all nuclear and submarine-related disciplines. He is also responsible for through-life equipment performance, combat systems, naval nuclear propulsion, new technology development and safety certification of all MoD vessels. He leads the UK submarine technical input to AUKUS (UK-US-Australia £200 billion submarine programme). An internationally recognised leader in submarine engineering, Keith has held many senior engineering roles during his naval career, including Chief Strategic Systems Executive and commanding HM Naval Base Clyde. A keen mentor, he has instigated programmes to improve submarine engineering capability in the MoD.
